We have an enrichment program at Canyon De Chelly that provides students with challenges that go beyond the normal range of activities. While approximately 95 students initially submitted interest forms, there are currently 62 students in the program; from grades 3rd through 6th.
We are taught to think outside of the box, to design, create and complete projects without fear of failure. Our mission will be to share this technology with other district schools and have friendly competitions.
Projects planned for the 2011 – 2012 school year include.
1) Lego Robotics and programming with Robolab and Labview software.
2) Construction of a school wide AM Radio station to be operated by students.
3) The build and operation of an underwater “Remotely Operated Vehicle” with video to the surface capabilities and LED lighting.
The program is in it’s first full year and would like to partner with corporate and community sponsors. If interested, contact Mr. Chiarappa at Ext. 9256.
