CDC serves students and families in grades K-6 who desire academically rigorous coursework and development of practical skills for life applications. Courses are not only academically but technology driven.
Every classroom teacher presents a variety of core subjects. Our community of learners have not only differences in abilities, but also in learning styles. Our role at Canyon De Chelly Elementary school is to give children the tools with which to cultivate their growth and knowledge. Language arts is taught to the needs of each child, all learners are provided the feeling that they are capable. The current Language Arts curriculum involves the interests of the children and makes learning relevant to life. The themes, integrated units, projects, group work, individual work, and hands-on learning are created in grade level format, geared towards a focus in active learning.
MATH and SCIENCE
CDC is focusing on commitment to preparing students in the areas of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). Students are using state-of-the-art equipment and technology to enhance math and science. CDC strives for name association with STEM schools and partners.

CDC students participate in a wide range of co-curricular and extracurricular activities. Students are involved in art, science, music, school publications, athletics, academic problem-solving, regional spelling bee’s and other special activity competitions.
